What should I do if my pet has an emergency?
If your pet is having an emergency, please call us on (02) 9713 7364 straight away. During our opening hours we see urgent cases immediately, so please call us on your way so our team can be ready for you when you arrive.
Our opening hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 1:00pm, closed Sundays and public holidays.
What should I do if my pet has an emergency after hours?
Outside of our normal opening hours we recommend calling or going straight to an emergency animal hospital, as they have vets and nurses on site through the night. You can call our clinic number at any time for [after hours details]. The closest emergency hospitals to Five Dock include:

Is my pet's problem an emergency?
If you are not sure, it is always best to call. Please get help straight away if your pet:
- Is struggling to breathe, or has pale or blue gums
- Has collapsed, is having a seizure or can't stand up
- Has been hit by a car or had a fall, even if they seem OK
- Is bleeding heavily
- Has eaten something toxic, such as chocolate, rat bait, snail bait, grapes, raisins, human medications, or lilies in cats
- Is a cat straining to pee and producing little or nothing
- Has a swollen, hard or painful tummy, or is retching without bringing anything up
- Is vomiting repeatedly or has bloody diarrhoea
- Is having trouble giving birth
- Has overheated on a hot day, especially flat faced breeds
- Has been bitten by a snake
- Has a painful or injured eye
What happens when we arrive?
When you arrive, one of our nurses or vets will assess your pet straight away to work out how urgent their problem is. Pets with life threatening problems are always seen first, which sometimes means other appointments may be delayed, and we thank our clients for their understanding when this happens. Once your pet is stable, the vet will talk you through what is going on and the next steps.
